Description Eric Brown 2007-10-01 17:47:48 UTC
Here's a bug I posted somewhere else about this before it got marked upstream:

http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=192454

Summary: When using mplayer or gxine to play videos using the following video output modules (xv, gl2, dga), X server crashes. The following errors show up in system log:

Sep 13 15:22:07 HOSTNAME grsec: denied resource overstep by requesting 135168
for RLIMIT_MEMLOCK against limit 32768 for /usr/bin/mplayer[mplayer:5101]
uid/euid:1000/1000 gid/egid:100/100, parent /bin/zsh[zsh:5084]
uid/euid:1000/1000 gid/egid:100/100
Sep 13 15:22:08 HOSTNAME gdm(pam_unix)[4942]: session closed for user USERNAME

In xorg.log, I saw the following errors around the time it crashed:
Fatal server error:
Bad channel value 31

This crash is reproducible with this version of the intel driver. The last known working version for me is 1.7.4, using which, I have no problems.

Looks like DUP of 10912. In the latest driver, XAA + Composite + Xv won't work. You'll need to use EXA as your accelmethod instead.
