Seems much nicer here using da_DK.

One thing though, the combination of mu looks like they've been glued
together.

I cannot replicate.

Could you please provide 
1. a screenshot
2. specify which DejaVu font is affected (Sans, Serif, etc)
3. verify that the test string is μμ

Maybe he means m + u which would make it a dupe of
