I downloaded the libdlo source and compiled it. Then when I ran the test executable, the screen shut off.

Here is some information that might help:

OS: Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit
Kernel: 2.6.32-23-generic #37-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jun 11 08:03:28 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
DisplayLink device: Lilliput 7" USB Monitor: http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/usb-gadgets/c609/
