When adding `GStreamer.framework/Headers` to the header search path, the system `assert.h` is overridden by a file belonging to FAAC. This appears to be installed as part of the `gstreamer-codecs-devel` package:

    # pkgutil --files com.gstreamer.universal.gstreamer-codecs-devel | grep assert.h
    Headers/assert.h
    include/FLAC/assert.h
