To setup display I use

xrandr --output VGA --mode 1280x1024 && xrandr --output LVDS --left-of VGA

CIJOML, Is this MPlayer specific? I mean will other apps be able to fill the whole screen?

Also, would you please test on a newer version? maybe this bug has been fixed...

sorry for the no response..

Hi there,

it is not application specific, I see this problem also when using kuickshow and try to fullscreen picture with "O" key
Comment 6 Hong Liu 2008-01-07 21:08:09 UTC
I've tried mplayer, and it seems when pressed F on external screen, mplayer is using LVDS's size for fullscreen.

But if I maximize the mplayer window(not pressing F), it can fill the full screen with window frame. So it seems not a driver bug.

Not sure from where does mplayer get the size info when pressing F.
I think you can report a bug to mplayer bugzilla instead.

Thanks,
Hong

I found that also citrix client has this problem - I can't make windows application's window bigger than the size - this is more general problem

CIJOML CIJOMLovic CIJOMLov,

so far we don't have the knowledge and bandwidth to understand Mplayer behaviour, but my gut feeling is that it is probably something wrong in a common code path, if it's a bug in X. Would you please:

1) Would you be able to test this on other graphic cards, I mean non-intel cards? I'm just wonderring if this is Intel driver specific.
2) Would you please report a bug to Mplayer to see if they can help us to undersatnd what call do they use when doing full-screen?

Based on current status, I'll put this bug as reolve later. Please do feel free to reopen when you have update.

Mass reopen. The "LATER" resolution is lame, I'm deleting it. Consider LATER to have arrived.

So I'm closing it as NOTOURBUG.
