Actually I don't know what's the version of my Xnest here - there's neither a -version argument nor does the manpage say anything about it beside that it belongs to xorg-server 1.5.3.

The output of -help lists two 'different' usages for the -class argument and -cc does something similar.

-class string          default visual class
-class display-class   specify display class to send in manage

I expected to set the window class with -class like -name for the window name.
