btw, do you guys have plans on moving to fd.o pm-utils at some point?

We'll not move to pm-utils for next Mandriva release for sure, we're to close to
code freeze now.

Currently, we're using custom scripts we've been maintaining for years:
suspend-scripts
http://cvs.mandriva.com/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/soft/suspend-scripts/trunk/?root=svn

They contain a lot of hacks and workarounds for hardware that was problematic,
but most of it is finally fixed in the kernel.
We also made our hooks very configurable (see suspend.d for the hooks, and
suspend.sysconfig for the configuration).
We also use laptop-mode-tools, which looks more advanced than pm-powersave
